Bridging is the set of elements which provide lateral support against buckling to a secondary element subjet to compressive loads, so they are placed in rows normal to the axis of the element, either horizontally or diagonally.
These members are used on joist to provide stability for erection, gravity loads and uplift due to wind forces and they can be supported with a single angle.
